Position Overview

Join East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) as a part-time Teacher Assistant working with Pre-K children in our after-school childcare program. This year-round position offers afternoon hours (11:30 am-5:00 pm) and provides an excellent opportunity for those seeking rewarding work with young children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating a supportive, engaging classroom environment
  • Help implement age-appropriate activities and learning experiences
  • Ensure children's safety through proper supervision
  • Support children's social-emotional development
  • Collaborate with the classroom team to provide quality care
  • Assist with daily routines and transitions
  • Communicate effectively with families and team members

Qualifications

You must meet ONE of these requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED and RI Department of Education Certificate of Completion of Teacher Assistant Training, OR
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, OR
  • Six college credit hours in Early Childhood Education coursework, OR
  • Commitment to achieve a CDA OR six college credit hours in ECE within 2 years of hire, OR
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field

Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
