Senior Accountant – Mission-Driven Nonprofit Healthcare

In this key role, you’ll manage grant compliance, financial reporting, and accounting functions that ensure resources reach the individuals and families who need them most.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Prepare and process monthly journal entries
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Support Medicare/Medicaid cost reports, the 330 Grant Budget, and UDS reporting
- Lead special accounting projects as needed
Grant Compliance & Billing
- Prepare accurate, timely Health Center grant invoices and reports
- Submit reimbursement requests with required documentation
- Monitor budget vs. actuals and provide financial projections
- Review accounts receivable and follow up with funding partners
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Generate monthly financial reports by grant, location, and department
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to leadership
- Communicate financial trends or irregularities to the Director of Finance
- Collaborate with Program Leaders on grant budgets and financial reviews
Organizational Support
- Participate in the annual budgeting process
- Prepare documentation for state and federal site visits
- Assist with annual audit preparation
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of nonprofit experience (grant reporting, budgeting, compliance)
- Knowledge of OMB 2 CFR Part 200
- Proficiency with nonprofit accounting systems (SAGE Intacct preferred)
- Strong understanding of GAAP, especially for FQHC/CMHC environments
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in nonprofit healthcare (FQHC, CMHC)
- Experience in Community Action Programs or wraparound service settings

Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., operate standard office equipment, and perform computer-based work for extended periods. Some movement throughout the facility is required.
